The "Do It Yourself" Page
Today it is possible for many people to produce their own CD and DVD copies at home. This page is designed to offer products and services to assist you in this process. It will be updated from time to time with new products and services, but if you think that there is anything not shown here that we may be able to help you with, then please contact us by phone or e-mail.
Jewel Case Inserts
If you are producing inserts for jewel cases, we have now started to produce our own range of perforated and partly cut sheets. At the moment they are only available for laser printers, but we may be producing inkjet sheets in the future.
Initially we are only making our rear insert sheets available to other users, but we hope to make our 4 page booklet front inserts available in the near future.
Our rear inserts come in packs of 25 or 50 sheets. Each sheet contains two inserts. We use 170gsm glossy paper. With micro perforations along the long edge, the partly cut spine edges make our sheets a little different from most other sheets. When removed from the A4 sheet, these rear inserts do not require any further cutting/guillotining along the spine edge. The major advantage that this gives you is that placement of text on the spines is far less critical with these inserts than with most others. Have many times have tried to cut off spine perforations on other inserts only to find that the text is so close to the edge, that cutting the perforations means losing a small part of the text? If you want to remove the perforations along the long edges, then obviously these edges will still need to be cut.
If you are using SureThing V4 or later (our preferred software) to produce your inserts, then just ask us to e-mail you our template for these rear inserts and we will be happy to send it to you.
A pack of 25 sheets (50 inserts) costs £6.49 inc. VAT and a pack of 50 sheets (100 inserts) costs £11.99 inc. VAT.
CD & DVD Laminating
Are you inkjet printing CD's or DVD's? Are you concerned about the fact that the ink will smudge if handled with wet or sweaty fingers? Then we can help by laminating your discs for you. Disc laminating is a similar process to laminating paper or card. Using a heat process, a thin layer of clear film is applied over the printed surface of your discs. After laminating, the disc surface can no longer be scratched and the ink cannot be smudged. All inkjet printable discs can be laminated, but those with a hard, smooth surface produce a much better result than those with a soft, rougher surface.
Laminating costs 20p + VAT per disc with a minimum charge of £5 + VAT.
